Founded by Prof. Karlheinz Brandenburg, well known as the “father of mp3,” Brandenburg Labs develops immersive audio technology that allows headphones to reproduce digital sound as naturally and precisely as real-world sound.

This technology makes it possible to recreate real or virtual acoustic environments through headphones. Our first product, Okeanos Pro, began shipping in early 2025. It is an advanced headphone system that streamlines multichannel mixing by eliminating the need for physical speaker setups, allowing engineers to mix immersive formats (Atmos/MPEG-H) virtually. It is already used by music studios, broadcasters, research institutes, universities and other professional environments.

Our next step is to bring this capability to everyday listeners. We are developing intelligent headphones for super hearing, designed to enhance immersion, reduce fatigue and unlock new ways to experience music, gaming, film, AR/VR and the world around you.
