Options for Data Tape and Optical Archive Replacement

At NAB 2026, Disk Archive will unveil S3 COLD support, enabling ALTO to act as a native S3 target for deep archive workflows. This opens the door to hybrid strategies where ALTO complements cloud or LTO systems, replicating content for redundancy or acting as a primary archive with cloud-based disaster recovery. ALTO also supports physical airgap configurations, making it a compelling option for cybersecurity strategies where a “copy of last resort” is essential.
