Evonik goes beyond chemistry for vehicle electrification, providing materials for components in hybrid drives as well as purely battery-electric vehicles. Its high-performance solutions support significantly increased performance, extend service life, fine tune component-specific thermal management, and ensure significantly better energy efficiency. Examples include our highly efficient AEROXIDE® fumed metal oxides and TEGO® SURTEN E process enablers for the EV battery electrodes and separators; VESTAMID® polyamide 12 for thermal management and power busbars in high-voltage batteries; and TEGOMER®, TEGOSIL®, POLYMER VS, and NANOPOX® to address various thermal management requirements by improving functional fillers, thermoplastics, thermosets or silicones. DYNASYLAN® organofunctional silanes serve as adhesion promoters. And at the end of the lifecycle, HYPROX® hydrogen peroxide aides in the recovery of rare and valuable metals during the battery recycling process.
