Overview
The G3-Alliance is a not-for-profit member organization created in 2011 to standardize and promote G3 communication technology globally. The G3 technology uses radio (RF) as well as the existing powerlines (PLC) for robust and cost-effective data communication in smart metering, smart grids, smart cities and other applications. It is an open standard published by ITU and the G3-Alliance operates a successful certification program enabling seamless interoperability between devices from different manufacturers, ensuring long-term support and preventing vendor lock-in!
The G3-Alliance counts nearly 100 members from over 30 countries who are international key stakeholders of the smart grid ecosystem. Members include utilities, semiconductor companies and meter manufacturers. Over 100 million products have already been deployed in more than 30 countries around the world.
G3-Hybrid – Redefining connectivity for Smart Solutions:
G3-Hybrid is a groundbreaking communication technology standard that seamlessly integrates wireless (RF) and wired (PLC) technologies in one, unified mesh network. G3-Hybrid sets a new standard by maximizing coverage and connectivity while minimizing the complexity and costs associated with network installation and management.
