The International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC, pronouned eye-bec) is an international association of design professionals who specialize in building enclosure consulting. From sprayed polyurethane foam to cedar shakes, from parking garages to air barriers, IIBEC has a member expert for every type of roof, exterior wall, or waterproofing issue in the world today. Founded in 1983 as the Roof Consultants Institute, it later became RCI Inc., and then in 2019, rebranded as the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants as its purpose evolved and its membership expanded their services.Since 1983, IIBEC’s Consultant members have offered unbiased design, repair planning, quality assurance observance, legal testimony, and other building enclosure management services. IIBEC’s Consultant members adhere to a strict code of ethics that offers unprejudiced service without affiliation with any product or manufacturer. Current membership is over 3,700. IIBEC boasts an international membership residing across the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.
