Overview
Monini was founded in 1920 by Zefferino Monini, who decided to start selling oil produced in the Spoleto area by fellow farmers and friends. Zefferino, due to his commercial natural instinct, decides to focus on the most precious of the products coming from olives: extra virgin olive oil. Soon the Monini brand would become the quality and passion reference for the industry, associated to the claim “a squeeze of olives”. In the 50’s and 60’s, Monini consolidates its position as a national producer, and its brand as one of the leading brands in Italy. And immediately after, also internationally with the first sales to the closest European countries, and subsequently to other export markets. Today, Monini S.p.A. is a modern and global company; with an overall turnover close to 200 Million USD; over 130 employees in the production facility in Spoleto; three subsidiaries outside of Italy in key markets: USA, France and Poland; and export sales to more than 60 countries. And still today, the company is owned by the Monini family with Zefferino Monini Jr. and Maria Flora Monini at the helm. Following on the footsteps of their grandfather Zefferino and his sons Giuseppe, Nello, Carlo and Paolo. And waiting for the newest generation of Monini’s to continue the tradition. Monini recently celebrated its 100 years anniversary, and at the same time presented a 10 years sustainability plan that involves heavy investments in organic farming and processes.
