Overview
Nutting Carts and Trailers designs and builds custom material handling carts and trailers for warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing environments where standard equipment does not fully solve the problem.
Every cart starts with the application. Load characteristics, weight, travel path, interface equipment, and operator interaction all shape the design. Nutting builds carts ranging from 500 lb capacity for picking and kitting to heavy-duty platforms and trailers engineered to handle loads up to 150,000 lbs. The result is equipment built for how work actually gets done on the floor.
At MODEX, the Nutting booth will feature multiple cart solutions to show the breadth of what is possible. This includes a mother daughter cart system designed for staged movement and space-efficient storage, a scissor lift cart that brings product to an ergonomic working height, pallet carts for high-capacity material movement, and additional application-driven designs. Each cart on display reflects a specific use case and highlights how customization improves safety, control, and throughput.
Nutting serves a wide range of industries, from supply chain and logistics to aerospace, automotive, and industrial manufacturing. Carts are engineered to operate inside real facilities, accounting for floor conditions, aisle widths, turning requirements, and integration with existing equipment. Designs support use with AGVs and AMRs, tugger trains, order picker forklifts, and manual push applications. Towing geometry, caster selection, braking, and tracking are addressed early so carts function as part of a system, not a standalone piece of equipment.
Material options include steel, aluminum, and wood decks, selected based on load requirements, product sensitivity, and operating environment. Steel supports high-capacity and high-cycle use. Aluminum reduces weight where maneuverability matters. Wood decks protect finished or delicate products. Deck surfaces, edge protection, guides, shelves, and fixtures are built around the product being moved.
Customization goes beyond dimensions and capacity. Nutting engineers carts with features such as fork pockets, cages, lift interfaces, hitch systems, specialized wheels and casters, and application-specific fixtures. The objective is to reduce handling time, improve safety, and eliminate workarounds created by off-the-shelf equipment.
Nutting carts are built for long service life in demanding environments. Engineering support, manufacturing experience, and material handling focus ensure each cart is designed with durability and consistency in mind.
