Founded in Miami-Florida in 2003, what started as an initial concept in our kitchen of passionate foodies who loved to cook and bake authentic empanadas to share with friends and family, later became a fully automated custom-designed food manufacturing facility that today provides a wide variety of handheld-pies on a local, regional, and national scale. As we continue to improve and develop as a team, our startup values remain at the heart of our company, while we keep incorporating important resources to sustain our high-quality standards so that we can provide our customers the satisfaction and integrity of our products.

Capabilities:
Sunsof, Inc. has a fully equipped manufacturing facility with an efficient process capable of developing, fabricating, and assembling numerous types of hand-pie products. Our dough laminating technology allows for the manufacturing of products with multiple layers of dough-fat creating unique flaky textures and concepts, while also providing non-laminated dough offerings such as short crust products. Our makeup line provides the flexibility of producing various hand-pie shapes and sizes, as the addition for different product coatings & toppings. Our automated production line includes a tunnel oven which allows us to offer different baking profiles, and our packaging capabilities include foodservice and retail presentations.

We offer an on-site test bakery, staffed with experienced professionals that combine their experience and know how, with a high sense of commitment and confidentiality. Our test bakery team have an excellent understanding of the industrial line and machines, raw materials, nutritional aspects, and end products. We help customers by providing industry-specific solutions to their needs. Our R&D process begins by planning the appropriate response to the customerโ€™s needs. Research, adapting to the market, creation of new products and the improvement of existing products and processes are our main objectives.

In terms of food safety, our operation is regulated by USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) for our meat and poultry-based products, by FDA for non-meat products introduced in interstate commerce, and by the Food Safety Division of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. In addition, our food safety management system is yearly audited under the SQF scheme, what has led us to achieve its certification by meeting the requirements outlined in the Food Manufacturing SQF Food Safety Code. Lastly, we have successfully passed countless customer audits.
