UCIMA member companies cover the entire range of packaging machinery production, from the food, confectionery and tobacco industries through to pharmaceuticals, chemicals, petrochemicals, cosmetics and end-of-line technologies.
Italy is one of the world leaders in packaging machinery, with a world market share of 20%.
In 2024, the sectorโs turnover totalled record figures of 10,06 billion euro (+9% compared to 2023). Exports account for around 80% of total turnover, with a value of almost 8 billion euro.
The most important countries of exports are Africa and Oceania, Asia and European Union. Next come non-EU Europe, North America and Central and South America.
WMP, We Make Packaging is the institutional brand used for all promotional activities related to the Italian packaging industry, both in Italy and worldwide.
UCIMA and Fiera Milano organize IPACK-IMA, the international trade fair that drives the evolution of processing and packaging. The next event will take place at Fiera Milano from 29 May to 2 June 2028.
The publishing division of the UCIMA association, KAIROS MEDIA GROUP, publishes the magazine ItaliaImballaggio (in Italian and English since 1994) and the yearbook PackBook, as well as the web magazines Packmedia International and Packaging Speaks Green.
ItaliaImballaggio magazine on paper and via web, in Italian and English, has been punctually and steadfastly reporting the events that animate the packaging & bottling sector. Over time it has become a link between Italian and international sector entrepreneurs (both material producers and machine builders) and the global market, facilitating the exchange of information.
